Higher Education Thought Leadership
Details:
Three of my most successful higher education thought leadership programs, created and implemented at Gale, focused on raising awareness of the company's teaching and learning story. The programs centered on:
1) digital humanities and digital scholarship, to amplify Gale Digital Scholar Lab messaging around project-based learning and digital tools.
2) primary source literacy, to advance Gale's messaging around the importance of primary sources for teaching, learning, and research — including digital literacy skills and the value of historical context.
3) addressing common misconceptions held by higher ed customers about Gale's sales process and how to maximize the value of their collections.
These stories were told through the voices of customers, instructors, librarians, students, product experts/subject matter experts (SMEs), and executives. Select topics were tied to current news events, such as the January 6th Capitol riots.
Results:
Press coverage included contributed articles, podcast interviews, feature articles, and product reviews across top higher education, edtech, and library publications and podcasts — including Times Higher Education, The Scholarly Kitchen, Charleston Hub, eCampus News, Research Information, Library Journal, Katina Magazine, Innovation Insights, and more.
This coverage expanded Gale's higher education thought leadership footprint by more than 50% and generated third-party validation content that sales and marketing teams leveraged to drive new business and revenue.
Below is some of the notable earned press coverage from those programs:
